Terms of Service
Introduction
Our mission is to create a safe, trustworthy, and effective advertising environment for businesses and users alike. These Advertising Policies outline the types of ads, content, and practices that we accept. Advertisers must comply with these policies, as well as all applicable laws and regulations, when using our services. Failure to comply may result in ad disapproval, account suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.
1. Advertisers: Unacceptable Content
Ads must not contain or promote the following:
- Illegal products and services: Including counterfeit goods, drugs, unlicensed gambling, weapons, explosives, or hacking tools.
- Adult and sexual content: Pornography, sexually explicit material, escort services, or adult toys marketed in a sexual context.
- Hate, violence, and harassment: Content that incites hatred, discrimination, threats, or promotes self-harm.
- Misleading or malicious content: False claims, scams, phishing, malware, cloaking, or manipulative ad practices.
- Sensitive or exploitative topics: Ads that exploit sensitive events (disasters, conflicts, health crises).
2. Advertisers: Permitted Content
Most consumer categories are permitted, while others are subject to strict conditions such as age-gating, geographic restrictions, certifications, or clear disclaimers:
- Alcohol: To maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive experience for all users, alcohol advertising is prohibited on our platform.
- Tobacco and e-cigarettes: Heavily restricted; only in certain markets with local compliance.
- Healthcare and pharmaceuticals: Prescription drugs, supplements, and medical treatments require prior authorization and regulatory approvals.
- Financial services and crypto: Must meet licensing requirements, disclose risks, and avoid misleading claims.
- Gambling and games of chance: Allowed only with licenses, legal targeting restrictions, and disclaimers.
- Political advertising: Allowed only in approved regions with clear “paid for by” disclaimers and compliance with election laws.
3. Advertisers: Editorial & Technical Requirements
echo provides a dynamic approach to creative placement. All ads must adhere to high-quality standards:
- Accuracy: Ads must represent the product or service clearly and truthfully.
- Clarity: Proper grammar, spelling, and formatting (no ALL CAPS, excessive punctuation, or gimmicky characters). Ads will be inserted using the same style and tone as the nominal LLM stream and naturally follow conversation flow.
- URLs and landing pages: Must match the ad content, be functional, safe, and user-friendly.
- Relevance: Ads must lead to relevant content and not mislead users.
- Transparency: An ad description provided by the advertiser should clearly disclose any fees, subscriptions, or recurring charges. Your ad will be dynamically generated based on user context and interaction with the LLM platform.
4. Prohibited Practices
- Cloaking or misrepresenting ad content to bypass review.
- Exploiting personal data.
- Circumventing systems by creating duplicate accounts or repeatedly submitting disapproved content.
5. Targeting & Privacy
- Advertisers must not misuse personal data.
- All data use must comply with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
6. Enforcement & Compliance
We use automated and manual review systems to enforce these policies across both advertiser and user activity. Violations may result in:
- Ad disapproval: The ad will not run until corrected.
- Account warnings: Repeated violations may escalate consequences.
- Suspension or termination: Severe or repeated violations may lead to permanent account removal.
- Forfeiture of rewards (intentional manipulation): If we determine there was an intentional attempt to manipulate any monetarily-rewarding aspect of the platform (including tasks, referrals, sign-up/bonus credits, cashbacks, or payout methods), we may immediately suspend or terminate the account and are under no obligation to pay any pending or accrued rewards. We may also withhold, cancel, or claw back such amounts, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Advertisers may request a review or appeal of enforcement decisions.
7. Users: Rewards, Referrals & Payouts
These rules apply to users who earn rewards through echo tasks, referrals, or other programs. They work alongside our Terms of Service.
- Eligibility & verification: You must be a real person using a single account. We may require identity verification (e.g., government ID) and applicable tax forms (e.g., W-9/W-8) before any payout and may limit participation by region, age, or other criteria.
- Ban evasion: Creating additional accounts (including using different emails, devices, VPNs, or other identifiers) to evade a suspension or ban is strictly prohibited — accounts found to be associated with ban-evasion will be suspended/terminated and any rewards forfeited.
- PayPal payout rejections: Once we successfully initiate a payout to your linked PayPal account, any rejection, hold, limitation, or reversal by PayPal is outside our control; you must resolve it directly with PayPal. echo is not obligated to reissue or otherwise handle such payments unless the failure was due to our error.
- Legitimate earnings: Rewards earned in compliance with these rules and applicable law will be paid on the next payout cycle according to your selected method.
- Prohibited activity (users): Self-referrals; multiple accounts or account sharing; spoofed or automated sign-ups; emulator/device-farm activity; masking identity or geography via VPN/proxy to evade rules; fake, purchased, or otherwise non-genuine traffic; misleading promotions; recycling users; or any attempt to manipulate measurements, referrals, or payouts.
- Intentional manipulation: Any intentional attempt to manipulate any monetarily-rewarding aspect of the platform—including but not limited to tasks, referrals, sign-up/bonus credits, payouts, cashbacks, or related measurement systems—will result in immediate suspension or ban. In such cases, echo has no obligation to pay any pending or accrued rewards, and may withhold, cancel, or claw back amounts previously credited, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
- Invalid activity is not payable: Rewards generated by prohibited or otherwise invalid activity are not owed. Such rewards may be withheld, canceled, or clawed back.
- Payout holds, reserves & schedule: We may place holds, set reserves, or adjust your payout schedule while we review activity, respond to risk signals, or comply with legal/processor requirements.
- Suspension/ban & forfeiture: We may suspend or terminate your account for fraud, abuse, or policy violations. Pending rewards tied to such activity may be forfeited.
- Dormancy: Subject to applicable law, accounts inactive for 12 months may be closed after notice. Unpaid rewards may be forfeited where permitted.
8. Transparency & Updates
We regularly update these policies to reflect evolving legal, industry, and safety standards. Advertisers will be notified of significant changes.
